Thanks to Roger at Knife Works, this showed up in my mailbox with lightning speed (I think I ordered it Thursday or Friday)...

I was too eager to get into the box to pull out my knife, so I just ripped it open and spilled packing peanuts all over the kitchen floor. Inside I found this:

Fortunately for my wallet, I don't like green or pink, and I really don't like the Izula 2. So I think I have all the Izulas I want or need right now. Unless somehow a dark blue or purple one comes out...

And here's a family shot:

I haven't gotten scales for the orange one yet (I kinda forgot to add them to my cart when placing my order).

I guess I'd better get outside and play with this thing before the predicted snow sets in tomorrow night.

Black Rit dye.

I boiled it up and dropped the scales in for about ten minutes (with dental floss tied through one of the screw holes so I could get it back out) and let it dry over night. Then ran water over it until it ran clear, let them dry overnight again and put them on the knife.

I don't use the black one too much, but it's never leeched out even when wet.
