For those of you who like the Case CV--and that includes me-- in the SMKW Christmas catalog there is a Case bonestag stockman that is made in CV. It is Case number 3492 and is 4 and 1/4 inches long. Alll the other bonestags have Tru-Sharp Steel blades.

They want 50 bucks for one so I went and checked the price at KNIVES PLUS and they want 45 bux for the same thing.
I also noticed you can buy the CASE AMBER BONE 4 1/4" CV model for 40 bux from KNIVES PLUS for those who might be interested in one of those. I have one of these already and it is one of the most beautifully made CASE knives in my collection. I bought this knife along some time ago along with the CASE 4 1/4" yellow handled CV stockman. This latter knife is NO WHERE as nicely made as the AMBER BONE model but both had superb edges and the yellow one has been my carry knife since March 1, '05 with every satisfaction. After a brief touching up of all three blades to shaving sharpness I blued the blades on the yellow handled knive and they are still spotless after seven months of EDC.

I agree 100%. I have the amber bone stockman and a yellow handled trapper, both in CV. I just wish that they would make a nice 3and 7/8" stockman with round bolsters in CV-- that is a nice size for EDC. Then again, I wish that they made a lot more patterns in CV. Anyway, I was surprised to find the bonestag in CV, I thought all they produced in CV was the amber bone and the yellow handle.

Thanks very much for the heads up. I thought these were not yet available mainly because a well-known internet Case dealer has had them listed on backorder for months.

I'm glad I saved back the $50 my mother gave me for my birthday in September! ;)

A further "heads up", I called New Graham this morning and ordered one for myself, and they mentioned it was the last one in stock.

Smokey Mountain still lists them though.

I wonder if you call SMKW and try to order one, they will say that they are on backorder or gone?? As I say, they are in the new Christmas catalog, should be in stock but who knows?

Dunno, Shepard Hills Cutlery (www.casexx.com) list them as "back ordered" also. The first ones out may have sold really quick, I can see these being a very popular knife. Can't wait to get mine!

They are taking some of the other bone materials and making the knives in CV now.

Hey...pictures, sources and websites!

Don't tease me like this!

ps, got my Bonestag large Stockman in CV a few days ago, absolutely a work of art, the Bonestag is awesome and the fit and finish is perfect.

Yes, please, more info. on any new patterns out in CV. It does make sense with the closing of Schrade that Case would step in with more CV patterns. Hope so.

Glad your bonestag is a good one, Last Confederate. I've heard some complaining about Case but everything that I have bought from them is really well made.

It is sweet, I am somewhat leary myself of buying Case knives online without handling them first, but I could only find 1 left at New Graham and I sorta trust them not to sell me one that's to bad.

It's perfect, all the places where liners and scales meet are perfectly flush backsprings are good, the only thing I have found so far is slight blade rub between the spey and sheepsfoot blade, but I have yet to see a pocketknife with 3 or more blades that didn't have a little rubbing somewhere.
