I am several emails deep with Spydie CS since early Dec. to no avail yet. I am in need of a frame screw male & female ends for a FRN Cara Cara. Or, proper sizes & description to facilitate me ordering online. I have posted in the Spydie forum here, the Spyderco official forum, and still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Beckerhead if I understand you what you are saying is that you need a barrel that is threaded and the screw that goes into it? I can only assume that is the 'female' part you are telling me you need.

If we can get down to a better description of what you need I can maybe help you find it but being that the knife you have is made in China even if we can track down the part you need there is a good chance the threads will be different on your original parts verses the new part. There is also the chance that the holes drilled are a metric or numbered drill size and not a standard size.

I got the "female/male" description from Charlynn, the Spydie customer service rep. Yes, the barrel and screw. The frame screws for the G10 model are different from the FRN model which is what I have. They are button head torx using a size 6 driver I believe. When I get home from work I can double check the driver size. As far as things like thread desc. or other details no help as I am an idiot on the subject.

Well the screws head size or wrench requirement is not as important as knowing the threads. The most common one used in those style and size of folders for that are usually a 2-56 size screws and barrels. They come in 1/4" and 1/2" lengthts so its probably going to be too long either way for both parts. The barrel diameter is going to be 1/8" on most suppliers here in the USA. If that knife uses some off size like many Japanese, Taiwanese, and Chinese made knives do you will almost surely need the help of Spyderco to track down what you are needing.

I have several off size screws from knives I have taken apart over the years but I don't have any way of knowing without seeing the knife if any of what I have will fit. I have some old Delica 4 barrels that are just over 1/8" size so if what you have is bigger than the 1/8" that may be what you have.

If you have a digital caliper to physically measure the diameter in either mm or inches it would help me to narrow it down on the barrel size you need.

Great. I will holler back when I get some specs for you, and thanks for your feedback thus far.
