Im in the market for a custom tatical folder. The catch is that im looking for a lefty knife. Ive been doing a good deal of searching with little success. Something along the lines of a lefty XM-18 would be amazing. If you guys could point me in the direction of some custom makers that produce knives similar to this that would be great. thanks ahead of time

I bet Peter Marzitelli would help you out. He's not a mid tech guy, strictly hand made to suit. I have a few knives he made, one is a folder, and man...well, I've never owned such a thing. I love it.

Have you tried to contact Mr. Hinderer? If you like an XM-18 type of knife, Hinderer, Kirby Lambert or Greg Lightfoot (had to put a plug in for the Canucks) should be able to help you out.

I shot Hinderer and email today. I didnt expect a response because i sent it late in the afternoon. Im sure others would be interested in a lefty model. i really dont have a problem with pay a little extra for something that fits me and that i will get some good use out of.

Honestly, I feel for you lefty's out there. You guys pay more for everything. My dad is a lefty but, growing up on the farm (read not much money) he learned to do some things right-handed (hockey, baseball. golf) out of necessity. He still shoots (got a Marlin 30-30 modified with an extended hammer - actually the first centerfire rifle I ever shot), writes, and brushes his teeth lefty though.

The whole point of ordering a custom or semi-custom is being able to get exactly what you want. If Mr. Hinderer can't help you, someone else will (although I'm pretty sure he can). Let us know how things work out.

Best of luck,

Nathan

thanks nathan for some rays of hope. i have also grown accustomed to using alot of righty tools. for ex using a righty knife and closing it with my left hand comfortably. i been browsing though alot of semi custom websites and ive become overwhelmed. i want to hear what info others have to offer
