Loverly Missouri wilderness during the Monsoon season? The last stick he is whittling almost looks like Yucca. looks like fun to go tromping through the woods. in southern MO we have had a foot of rain this last week.

We have not had any rain here in like....15 minutes:D

Yeah, it has been a wet year to say the very least. I imagine we will pay dearly in July/August as we pray for some moisture (seems like it generally works that way).

I am not sure what that stick is next to my boot...I found it laying on the ground and there were no real distinguishing characteristics (not that I am particularly good at plant ID). The ones in his hand are juvenile cedar trunks (we get a lot of little guys getting choked out around here, we pull them out by hand and make them into walking sticks).

Thanks Dennis. Nice to hear from you!

I hope you have been getting out (and taking some photos that you will be sharing;))

Looks like a wet woods. Been a pretty wet year everywhere, it seems like. Been nothing but rain most of the last couple weeks here.

Thanks for the pics

Yes, it has been wet almost everywhere. I do not mean to sound anything but grateful for what we have received in the way of weather (my mother-in-law lives in one of the many areas that have been devastated by tornadoes recently...it seems that nature has dealt a lot of storms this spring).

We have been able to get out and enjoy many hours in the woods this year...we have had it very very good by comparison!

Great pics man, nothing like watching the looks on the young one's faces as they explore the natural world. I like that Spyderco fixed.

Thanks Mist. I totally agree, watching the next generation figure things out (faster than I did) is refreshing to say the least.

The Spyderco Mule is a fantastic shape. This one has helped me out in the woods many times.

how do you like that spyderco bob terezoula slipit with the carbon fiber scales?

Sorry, that is a modified Gayle Bradley. I like it quite a bit...a very tough offering from Spyderco! I had to modify it a bit to suit my tastes for wood work though (ground down and contoured the proud liners, and radiused the carbon slabs so that there are no sharp/hot spots while processing wood).
