I just did a trade with a fellow forum member on a Couple Mayo/Buck TNT's and I just want to say after being a diehard 110 fan for years, God, I love these knives !!!!!!!!!!!! I can only hope Buck continue's to make more of them. Titanium handles, BOS S30V blades, nice fit and finish, no blade play, U.S.A. made. I am sorry ,but I can not see any reason in paying $450.00 for a semi-custom/production folder . When we have a company like Buck turning out these kind of knives, which get the job done just as well, for a fraction of the price. BUCK this Bud's for you !!!!!!!!!!

Hey Skinny...
That TNT is a very cool blade indeed.
I agree with statement you made. Well, I'll take a Bud Light though ;)

YEP,What didja do ta that nighthawk Buckaholic?looks a lil bit broken?
Hey Blades...I "borrowed" that pic from Messy. I think it is a protoype Buck tried and was sliced through a stump. Some of the wood hides the part of the blade where it curves "Gurkha khukuri" style. :D;)

Actually, I couldn't find the thread...but there is a funny/sad story with a happy ending about it. Maybe someone will find the link and post it in the recent NightHawk link (2nd page): http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=538565

Skinny...BTW, you need a set...if you can, check out the Buck Mayo Waimea.
Like the TNT, it is too cool for school

I own the Buck Mayo TNT and Waimea. I just got the Waimea today and I am really impressed. I also hope Buck makes more versions of Mayos with different blade shapes.

Here is a comparison photo of the Ti framelocks currently residing in my house. My most recent acquisition is the Waimea, which is a great knife.

The Buck/Bose collaboration is a great one. Even the Chinese ones aren't bad...but nothing compared to the US ones!!

I have a Buck/Mayo inbound, had one before and really miss it, thanks for the
pics it'll tied me over until it arrives, hopefully Monday...:)

She arrived today, the previous owner, or someone, had attempted to sand the blade
a little but ended up with long scratches down the length of the blade, which criss crossed
the regular lines of the grinding.

So I took some 2000 grit paper, a rubber eraser as a backup to the sand paper and
proceeded to rub out the nasty lines until the original finish, as best I could, appeared
again, here are a couple shots of the knife, I neglected to get a before shot, duh...
but this shows the sanding process, which is to ONLY rub with the grain and the end results

It's a very sharp knife and solid lockup, nice job for Buck and of course our friendly
neighborhood condiment, Mr Mayo! :)

Thanks, in this case, as I knew I would end up still seeing the original
flow, I didn't bother using only one direction, if I were to continue to make
it fully mirror polished, then I would do that, just press in one direction
and raise it up and start again, short strokes in doing this!
But it looks so much better :)

Thanks, I just noticed, the one above mine has the logo closer to the
opening hole where this one is more mid point of the blade
weird eh?

Good catch on that logo location Gary. How long is that blade overall and how far from the thumb notch edge is the logo's edge?

Here's mine...

Gary!
Let me save you some time, Buck Brother! 600 grit will replace the finish on most Bucks prior to the Post Falls jump. 800 does really fine with all the new stuff. 1000 and wet sanding with Flitz will mirror-polish. 2000 takes sooooo much time and the deeper scratches ain't touched with such a fine grade. However a nice satin is the result, as you found, with 2000. I compliment you on the eraser backer! A wood door shim is just the ticket for the flat along the spine of a fixed-blade, btw-... no flex to round the edge.

Blade is 3" long, to the logo's edge from the end of the thumb notch is 1/2"

And thanks Dave, didn't want to take the logo off, so figured the 2000 would
work withouth digging too deep, there is still one stubborn scratch but it's
very hard to see any more so that'll work
and good idea with the molding, I cut a round edge on the eraser to help follow
the grind.
