So there was a Mayo seb forsale some time ago from steel addiction, I missed it, and someone else bought it. Sometime later I received email from a person checking to see if I was interested in selling one of my small Mayo customized sebenzas. I wasn't, but would consider a trade.

This person tracked down the large from steel addiction, bought it from the buyer and we traded. The trade successfully concluded today.

The thumbstud is a bit different, previous ones I've seen have a round stepped taped shape with a smooth top.

Congrats Dave. Nice piece! The duel flat thumbstud is a nice touch.

I love it Dave! I had one of the last Mayo tuned Sebs that he made before his Doctor told him to stop. Mine as traded-I was DUMB!!!!! I wish I could get ahold of another.

Congrats Dave, great catch

Very similar hole pattern and color as my large.
They are getting harder to find these days!

Thanks for the pic Recoil. If you ever want to sell it let me know. ;)

I like the thumbstud you have better, but I'm getting used to the knurly one on mine.

I noticed the thumb stud too, very cool! is that the CRK one just heated and flattened down or is it custom?

I believe I am the original owner of that Mayo-nized sebenza many years ago. I got it from Tom directly, and I remember that thumbstud - he ran out of the circular one with the top chopped off.

thanks bro! does the back side or clip side have holes too?

Jules

sorry, but I can't remember. I sold it in 2003 to burnsy56, I think, but I believe the servers on BF and USN crashed in 2004, so I can't search the old posts.

Spyken, were you talking about my knife or Recoils?

It would be neat if we had a registry of sorts so we could track where knives go/ end up.

I purchased my large Mayo'd seb off of the USN a few years back.
It does have the hole pattern on the reverse (clip) side similar to the Dave H
large.

Dave,
Thanks for sharring that great pic. I always enjoy your knife shots! :)

Nice score, for sure.

Is that flame anodization we're looking at there? It seems to me that there's subtle colour variations in the handle.

Same with yours too, recoil, though maybe to a lesser degree.

Or is it just my mind or shadows/lighting?

^^ I see. That's really an understated finish. There's something to be said for that rainbow Leek look, but the subtle flame colouring (<--sorry, Canadian spelling, eh) really looks awesome if you ask me.

I've got some questions about that process, but will post in the Maintenance..

Thanks DaveH.

I have the same thumbstuds. The really neat touch is that the offside stud is just slightly smaller than the strongside one.

Hole pattern is different, but had the subtle flame work on the Ti.

Nice knife Dave.

Mine was one of the last he did and has been on my belt ever since. Just before BLADE '03 or '04, can't remember.

Lg Classic BG42.
