I finally got to see the most active volcano in the Philippines. Mayon is the most active of the active volcanoes in the Philippines, having erupted over 49 times in the past 400 years.

Ruins of the left over from Cagsawa church destroyed in the 1814 eruption. It is said that 1,000 people died while seeking sanctuary in the church.

Thanks for sharing the pics! No matter where you go these days those skeeters will get you.

Stunning photos, the shot of the church & the last shot of the volcano especially.

Thank you for taking us along.

I have always wanted to visit Mayon and the Chocolate Hills on Bohol. I will eventually make it there on one of my trips to the Philippines.
