I was curious to know how many of Spyderco's knives are MBC rated. So far, the one's that I know of are: Lil Temperance, Gunting, ATR.....did I miss any?

Also, what makes the compresion lock stronger than a liner lock. I know it is stronger, but to me it looks like a liner lock reversed to the top of the knife.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

The Compression lock locking liner sits into or onto a shelf in the blade..this liner is then compressed by that shelf into the anvil pin on the back of the knife..
a liner only engages on the back of the blade surface..
A compression lock would have to lose liner finger and anvil pin to fail..

the Compression lock is able to take forces against it in reverse grip..something other locks will not do...

If I'm not describing it in pure knife design language I'm sure one of the gnomes will corrct me...ROFL..

The Gunting was designed as am MBC tool..its a full force continuum tool and the compression lock helps a greayt deal in this..

be safe

Dodo is also MBC rated and I bet the Paramilitary is probably close if it's not... anything with a ball bearing or compression lock would have to be MBC or close I would think.

There's also a lot of Spydercos like the Persian that are not full blown MBC but still have very strong locks.

I'm damn sure the Chinook is :p
