I have never seen one of his knives in person, but have always liked their looks in the pics I have seen, I also have heard nothing but good things about his workmanship, so, I have had an eye out for one of his that struck me, and, when I came across this one on Knife-Art yesterday, I knew I had to buy it, problem was, I didn't have any money to afford it, so, I scrambled, sold a few things and this bad boy is now mine. :D

6.5" forged damascus blade, looks like a multi-bar, also looks differentially tempered. Really nice Buckeye burl handle, guard is large, grooved and stainless. I can't find a thing not to like about this one, except of course, I wish it were bigger. :)

Should be getting it this week, can't wait. :)

Just gorgeous. Shawn does great work and I know you will be very pleased.

It's no surprise that that grabbed your eye. It's *really* sleek. I love the guard/spacer area.

Nice goin' Ari. :)

Ari, you are a punk, :p that knife was mine. Of course, I was never going to buy it but it was nice to think that there was hope that I could someday. Now, you've taken that away and there is nothing for me to live for. Goodbye cruel world... :D

Seriously, I'm glad you got it. It is indeed a sriking piece.

Welcome to the McIntyre Fan Club!!! LOL!!! :D
Own three now - Thanks to Danbo! and I like each one... You won't be disappointed with his work!

Thanks for the comments, it should arrive tomorrow (tuesday), and, as usual, when I have a knife coming, I won't sleep until tomorrow night. :)

Oh, and Dylan, I'm indeed a punk, with a cool-ass bowie... :p

I am really impressed by his knives although his prices have really climbed over the last few years.

I have a big honker with a eucalyptus burl handle that is outstanding and also a little fighter. his work is clean and his style reminds me a lot of the earlier work of John Fitch and that is a compliment.

You know, at first, when I saw the price, I was thinking, wow, that's not cheap for a mid sized bowie from a non MS/JS maker, then, I thought, well, it is a damascus blade, which of course adds a lot to the cost, it's a fairly simple knife, but clearly some work went into the damascus, since it appears to be a multi-bar, and diff tempered, and the guard and ferrule also seem like some time went into them, and then I thought, well, a damascus bowie of this approx size from Terry Primos would cost about this much, and take a long time to receive with Terry's wait time, and, I loved its looks, so clean and refined, so, after the wheels of rationaization had turned for a bit, it became a much smarter buy. :) Of course, I'd rather have bought it a year or 2 ago for less money, but isn't that always the case.

It should actually be arriving any minute... :)

Got it. Love it. You can't have it. :)

Seriously, Shawn is just one more example of non ranked smiths turning out Mastersmith-quality stuff, this is one hell of a knife, excellent sheath too. I may just have to get some more of his knives, when I'm able.

If you'll excuse me, I have to go mentally prepare for the arrival tomorrow of my Bradshaw interframe folding bowie. :)

It's been a really bad month in lots of ways, but it's been a very good knife-month. :)

Whoah, that's friggin' awesome. I'm usually not the biggest fan of damascus, unless it somehow complements the design of the rest of the knife, and this does that fantastically. I love the way the "lines" of the beveled area almost sweep along with the curve of the belly all the way up to the tip. Very cool.
