Hi all,

Considering the McNees 3.5 gen 2, but I have heard that there have been some blade stick issues. Can anyone confirm? Any insight on the action? Is it similar to or faster / easier than a hinderer?

Many thanks in advance,

I owned one and it didn’t have lock stick. It did have a pretty strong detent though. Way stronger than any Hinderer I’ve owned. I enjoyed the strong detent but others may not. Very snappy! My suggestion would be to buy one used off the forum and if it’s not for you it should be pretty easy to get your money back. Way cheaper than buying one new.

Thanks - I am looking for a USA titanium working flipper type, i already have too many Hinderers!

Thanks again - might save my thumb!

There’s no such thing as too many Hinderers my friend 😂. I have a bunch myself. I recently got a Chris Reeve large inkosi and it’s very good if you haven’t tried one yet. Not near as fun to play with as a Hinderer but it’s a good one. I also hear a lot of praise towards the Spartan Harsey folder. I’ve had the small but I’ve been told the large is much better. You can get those for almost half price on the forum sometimes.

I’ve owned a few of gen 1 and gen 2. I haven’t noticed any blade stick. As stated above the detent is stronger/different on the gen 2.
