Quite often companys that do a good job are ignored and the ones that don't do well get a lot of publicity.
Last week the flat belt pully on my 100lb power hammer broke apart.
I searched a lot of places and finally found one on the McMaster-Carr web site.
I ordered it on Friday and it came today. I am impressed with their quick shipping and not only that, the shipping charge was only $6.75 for a package that weighed several pounds. The UPS man commented on how heavy the box was.
Elsewhere, I have paid a lot more shipping cost for a lot less weight.
I was also impressed with the large amount of items they have on their web-site and how user friendly it was.

If you've had good a experience with them, don't hesitate to post in the feedback section as well. You're right that sometimes we only hear b!tching about the bad guys, and the good guys don't get as much PR.

If you get a good deal from a forum member, you can right-click on their user name, go to their profile, and leave feedback for them that way, too.

(of course, both these methods work for negative feedback as well)

Gotta love the fast shipping to NY. I have been ordering things from them for years and have never been disappointed.

I have been ordering from them for years. A++ service and they have quality products. They are great to deal with and very easy to order from. I recommend.

McMaster has a lot of stuff.

I order from them quite a bit.

Working as a toolmaker for years, I've placed well over a million dollars in orders with them, and never, not once has there been a mistake on their end.

Now, often you can find things for less $$ elsewhere, but not always.
Their shipping is quick and fair, and returns are taken back, no questions asked.

Excellent website too, I use it as a reference regularly.

Not to take anything away from the McMaster-Carr folks, but check Grainger Supply too. They carry a lot of similar products and compete closely on prices. When I worked in the printing industry, we compared both catalogs and would purchase based on which one had the closest warehouse. Mainly for shipping costs. They're both respectable outfits.

One of the best places to order all kinds of weird stuff. All my replacement whitney punches came from McMaster.

I work in the Chicagoland area where their warehouse is located. If I get the order in by 10 or so in the AM, I'll usually get it around 5 in the PM the same day for the UPS rate. If things are an emergency, I can pick it up. We also have a lot of Grainger branches around here too.

I guess I am spoiled.

I ordered 5 gallons of their fast quenching oil at about 10:00am...it arrived that SAME DAY at about 3:00pm! This was without any special shipping option!

THeir facilities are amazing also. Something out of a science fiction novel.

I get a lot of stuff from them.

I have used them for around three years and they are top notch. Their steel and non-ferrous selection is amazing. It would be cool if they had a bit more mid carbon steel to choose from but overall I really like them. Their search feature is very efficient compared to most other businesses.

I have a friend that lives on the beach and he asked me if I knew if there was such thing as titanium chain. He wanted some for his boat buoy. I figured it was a long shot but I checked McMaster and sure enough they had several types listed.
