I always had a problem with knives having rough handles. And even with smooth handle, there's was the problem of secure grip. Finally, found a solution - Mcnett cling type tape that works wander. Feels like Kraton but has a grip like no other. More tighter you fit it on the handle, more stronger you feel - fits like a skin on the handles and love the choice of colors too. Some of my users on McNett digital ACU Tape cling type.

I really love Camo Form, even recommended it a few days ago on the tactical spike thread :)

It's especially great for firearms of all types and sizes.

To each their own I guess. If you like it, that's what matters. I would consider doing that to one of my $4 machetes I bought at wal-mart, but not one of my nice knives.

Nice collection you have there. That stuff looks just like the wrap veterinarians use to wrap the bandages on dog paws to protect them from the elements. I've been using hockey stick tape here and there but I may have to pick some of this stuff up.

That is mighty "utilitarian". I suppose if I were deployed somewhere...sure. I mirror the opinion, to each his own...with all due respect of course.

Seems like a good idea. Where do you buy the tape?

The drug store, they call it self adhesive bandage though. It's about half the price the McNett stuff. I use it on my machete handles so I can get a better grip when wearing gloves. The McNett Camo-Form stuff doesn't keep the nice camouflage color very long before it turns brown so it's really not worth the $10 a roll.

I always use handlebar tape. It is tacky, feels good in the hand, dampens vibrations, and can make a handle a bit more ergonomic. I often have a problem with small handles. I weigh a buck thirty but have giant hands, riddle me that. I got the idea from working at a bike shop; we'd wrap the wrenches with handlebar tape. Cheap, local, and come in every color.

I use hockey tape, but it leaves a little glue on the slabs that then has to be removed. Plus when it gets wet or dirty cleaning game, it has to be replaced. This stuff looks nice. I wonder if it leaves any glue on the knives after it's removed. If it's like the gun tape, it should come off clean.

It doesn't leave any residue behind and it's better than a common self-adhesive bandage. It's very form-fitting and you can keep other goodies hidden inside.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Once you remove it, no one can tell even it was ever there. You can buy 4 bucks a roll on ebay as I bought ACU three roll 12.59 w/ free shipping. That's a very good deal. Use it when you are in the field and remove it when you are not using it. I used to use Tennis Racket grip, the expensive leather one, but left sticky stuff with sometimes discoloration of my handle. Mcnett don't have any of these problems. Tennis grip does come loose after chopping heavy, but not Mcnett, it's become stronger as more harder you hold your knife . Great product.:D:thumbup:
