mcust or moki

Both are high quality knives but if I had to pick one over the other it would be be Moki.

Moki is a 100 year old company and the fit and finish of their knives is as good as I've seen in a production knife. (excluding Chris Reeve's folders, of course)

I have both and its really hard for me to compare as a I have a basic Mcusta and a Tactility while the Moki Serapis I have is more a gentlemans knife. The moki has inlaid mother of pearl and it is a real looker and both have great fit and finish so it is really about what knife or type of knife you are looking for as it is is unfair to compare since this they are apples to oranges here.

The Moki knives are finished and fitted really nicely, but the two knives are not really comparable. The Mcusta knives are one-hand openers, or pretend to be one
hand openers. The Moki knives are not. They are lockbacks.
I have a Moki Aries - when I first got it I was surprised that I could hardly see the joint between the blade and spring. The fit was that good.
Mcusta knives are good quality, but are all linerlocks or framelocks with thumbstuds. It is all a matter of what you want. The Take is not all that hard to open, but the Nami is a framelock
and I find it hard to open with one hand. Quality is also very good on the Mcusta knives.

I have over 30 Moki Knives and in my world it is hard to find a Knife with the fit & finish of a Moki as has had through the years from when it was first made.!***** 100% every/time.^^ I have bought ~ sold ~ and traded and I have ""never " had a bad Knife of there's.!

Both great, but it doesn't get much better than Moki if they make a pattern you want.
The small Moki Fish Owl is one of my favorite small/light folders.
Custom quality on all of the Moki's I've seen.

If you are interested in Moki and Mcusta you might want to check out G.Sakai as well. They are sort of the middle ground between the modern style of Mcusta and the more traditional style Moki.

History, F&F and reputation I'd say Moki. Mcusta is a later entry into the knife world but they do have a history as makers of scissors and they are part
of the Marusho group that makes those Silky saws. But as others have correctly pointed out their styles are really very different and you are getting Seki quality either way. It's really a matter of your personal taste and preference.
