Mcusta basic damascus or Almar Shrike???

yeah these are very different knives. Both are nice but the Shrike is more business, the Mcusta is more boardroom.

The Mcusta is certainly more of a gentleman's knife in my opinion. Send me a PM or email if you are looking for a Mcusta.

Mcusta doesn't have a pocket clip or I would gotten one myself a while ago. If you're after the Damascus there is a Dam. Leek made by Kershaw that looks pretty sharp.

Never owned one, but understand the Mcusta is a very nice blade- gets lots of favorable comments, would make a great edc. I own an older micarta Shrike and have owned the g-10 version as well. Actually made by Moki, it is a bit larger but very well made- great fit and finish with solid lockup. The micarta shrike is one of the smoothest folders I own, very well made knife. Both are vg-10, and take killer edges. I'd be happy with either, the Mcusta may carry a bit easier. My shrike tends to ride a bit high in the pocket due to clip placement, that is an issue for some. I'm a bit of a Shrike fan, its persian styling makes it different from all the other folders I own.

Actually, the Mcusta's are now available with a pocket clip. Early on they came with just an ugly-azz flowered pouch but they have since wised up to the American mkt. :D Very nice knives with an excellent fit and finish.

Thanks for the response people.
I have been leaning toward the Shrike lately, but man does that Mcusta damascus look beautiful or what? My last EDC was the Endura VG-10 w/ Spyderedge up untill I gave it to my son a while back.
Now I want to see if I can move up and get a bit of class and culture in my "social" EDC and still have a sizeable knife that can get some work done.
I think I will still get another Endura in ZDP-189 or H1 for when I am out on the drilling rigs though. Thanks again.

I have an Mcusta limited edition, the Cherry Blossom in cocobolo and while I am unlikely to use it, it is a very 'handy' knife and quite a decent size. As well, the damascus blade (it is actually 'san mai') had the sharpest edge I have ever felt out-of-the-box. It easily beat out my Fallkniven P with the 3G steel, or my Sebenza.
The cocobolo is beautiful with wonderful grain and colour. I am very impressed with the Mcusta and am considering another plainer one for use.

I put the Shrike to good use, Really solid knife, Good blade steal. I cleaned alot of game with it. It was also my EDC for about a year, Thats a long time for me. I like to change knives every 6 months or so. I hva heard a lot of good things about Mcusta knives, but they are a little small for my needs.
