ok so i rarely see any knife talk on these forums about Mcusta knives.....Why?

i just got one from my brother in law for the holidays and i can honestly say its a great gentlemens knife. The specific model i got was the Take in solid damascus. It is hands down the sharpest knife i have ever felt. I have handled and made many custom knives that are close but not as sharp as this mcusta. I opened the box and the edge whittled a free hanging hair twice in the same spot  and i though my spydercos came sharp.

Anyways i feel mcusta's dont get enough credit on this forum and think that if anyone was wondering on whether to get a mcusta or not, DO IT! you wont be dissapointed.

I have a Take, with stamina wood arriving most likely Wednesday, should be a very nice gent's knife.

I have one of the mcustas made for Browning a few years ago, one of the great bargains in the knife world. Flawless fit and finish. Will get one of the mcusta branded ones this year, I really like the katana.

I have this basic folder with quincewood. For me this is a solid and good looking knife. And it came sharp

Is that the 33 layer stainless-dama?
I've been thinking of adding a tactility in Quince to my collection.
Looks brilliant.

I have the Take in Staminawood and it is a very nice knife. I like it very much.
I just got the small Nami a few days ago. The knife is beautiful, but pretends to be a one-handed
opener. I can't do it most of the time. The frame-lock engagement is too stiff. Loosening the pivot
has no effect on this. The knife is so nice looking that I won't send it back, but it is really a two-handed
opener for me.
The fit and finish on both of these knives is great.

i would post some pics but my camera kinda crapped out on me and my phone camera sucks :o. but believe me it is very elegant. The damascus is subtle but has beautiful lines!

You don't need to show me any photos,I have a few and your absolutely right on ,they are awesome,I have the gentleman's knife in Cocobolo, very nice .

I have a Tactility in Quincewood. Very sharp knive. 33 layer damascus with VG-10 core. It has very poor lock up though. The lock bar just barely catches the back edge of the blade. It has some really funky screws on it, so I can't take it apart to adjust it. I love the knife, but wish it had better lock up.

I was looking at Mcusta folders for a while - the general feedback seems to be that their overall fit and finish has dropped over the years(their regular production models).

I still love the looks of the Katana - too bad it has an ugly pocket clip that can't easily be taken off or swapped.

Now you're gonna need one for yourself. The fit and finish on the ones I have handled has been fantastic. I only have this one left...

That question has been asked a few times on here. (Once by me IIRC)

Not sure why.
Maybe nothing to complain about?
Or possibly its one of those brands you either love or don't care about.

I have several and all have excellent f&f. Ok, one's blade is a smidge off-center. Otherwise they are pretty much perfect.

I find some of their designs are not quite my taste so I just wait patiently for them to do a new one I like the look of.

I'm tempted by that Take Damascus model. Though the specs say 3 1/2 closed, which sounds mighty small. My William Henry B12 TZ has a 3" blade and 7" Overall length, and about 4" closed. Many of my other small knives have similar dimensions. My smallest is a Small Buck Vantage Pro, which is a little over 3 1/2" closed.

Now depending on design, finger choil, and handle thickness I might be willing to go with it, but the tiny size gives me some pause before sinking $150 into one. I use my knives at work and would prefer to be able to pull my knife out, open it, cut what I need, and close it. All with one hand, and preferably without fumbling around trying to open it.

Mcusta makes beautiful knives. I've had this one for quite a while, and I'm very happy with it. I use it when I'm dressing up.

I only see one "drawback" of this particular knife. I don't know what kind of wood it is (or if it is wood), but the laser cutting tracks make it look a little artificial. I still think it's beautiful and it can really only be seen very close. However, if I'd had the opportunity, I might have picked a different handle material/color.

I have a Mcusta Tsuchi Black.

The only problem it has is that you can't change the clip...
Other than that is a great knife.

You sold me. I've decided to compromise and instead of getting the Bamboo knife in Cocobolo and damascus bolsters, I've decided to trade the more flashy bolsters for the larger Tactility in Quince wood.

I've recently been feeling an itch for quality wood that my various titanium and G10 folders haven't been scratching. The purchase of a used Buck gave me some satisfaction, though the wood is badly chipped and worn, and I suspect it isn't stabilized. Not interested in the titanium handled Sebenzas or Mnandi with inlays. I wanted a fistful of wood in a folder:thumbup:. Hopefully this will scratch my pulsating tumorous itch:D.

The Take in Staminawood is not 3 1/2" as the specs say, but more like 94mm closed. This is a bit more than 3 5/8" - but the small size and position of the
thumb studs do take some getting used to for opening with one hand.
