I'm looking at an MC61D Mcusta fixed blade knife with the micarta inlay. I can't see from the pix how the micarta is held in the interframe handle. Does anyone know how that's accomplished?

I updated my post in the General Discussion forum, so I'll update it here as well. I sent an email to Japan and received a reply on it this a.m. Here's a paste from the email":

"Thank you for your interest in Mcusta MC-61D Fixed blade with Black Micarta handle. The micarta slabs are glued in the recesed inter-frame handle with strong adhesive tape. So far, we had no complains from the users, but it may come off after long use in wet condition. You can of course re-glue it, if that happened."

Now we all know!! Not much of a testimonial for a "bird and trout" knife. I'm just not interested in any knife which uses tape to secure handle materials, especially one with a MSRP of over $200.

It really surprises me, their folders are top quality craftsmanship!

I believe I read that CRK uses a similar tape method on their inlayed Sebenzas, and I have never heard of the inlays ever coming out. There are tapes and glues that are permanent.

Mike Stewart from BRK&T states that the adhesives by which the handles are glued are so strong that the pins/rivets are merely for decoration.
And Bark Rivers are ment to use!!!
