I have been researching Mcusta knives for some time now and the Tactility is calling out to me. There seems to be limited information on it . Must be a sleeper.

Looking for opinions and photos. It seems to be a bit larger than it appears. I am most curious about the build and steel quality. It looks elegant and sturdy to me. I might try one to fill the primary EDC role. The next question would be studs or hole?

Thanks!

I don't know that I'd call it sturdy... It's certainly not frail, but the liners and lock leave a little to be desired. It's a knife of yesteryear and feels like it.

I do like it though and it'll certainly stand up to any reasonable daily use. The one I owned briefly had allignment issues, but didn't rub.

I'd go with the studs to get their lovely layered damascus.

The wood and Damascus is nice. Would look great with some dirt and scratches.

Mine feels plenty sturdy, FWIW. I don't feel like I could do anything my Emerson CQC-7V that I couldn't do with my Tactility.

I like mine, and used to carry it regularly but have dropped it out of the rotation since the beautiful quincewood scales cracked on the lock side. I've been meaning to take the cracked scale off, glue it and then polish the seam a bit but have just never gotten around to it.

The spine of the blade is right-angled out of the box, but I broke the edges of the spine and the knife was pretty comfortable after that.

I don't use mine. It's art.

Could be a user if I didn't get that damascus blade.

They are higher end material budget knives. They use good nylatron washers. Action is manual and stiff. But buttery. Mines center. It could probably be a good user. Also easily my sharpest blade from the factory.

I like it and want to use it but can't bring myself to. Which is funny cause I'll use my most of my more expensive knives without issues and this one was cheap in comparison.

Tbo I wish the action was different. Would have liked phosphorus bronze washers and would like it to drop in on close. But it's just not that type of knaf

The more we discuss it, I realize I'm in love with the look but that's about it..

I was the same way. Just about every picture I’ve seen of one made me want to pull out my wallet right then, but the more I thought about it the more I realized it’d probably stay at home. Too many cons to overcome the pros. I still want to try one out eventually, but there are quite a lot of other knives I’d choose over it.

They are a beaut, though.

I have the wood and Damascus style Tactility. Very expensive here in the UK. How much do I like it? I bought one for my brother, too.

Superb knife, perfect F&F, shoots out like a rocket. Comes razor sharp and is very pleasing in hand, in mine at least. Both examples I bought have absolutely no play whatsoever. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Will post a picture when I get home.

Nice. Looking forward to it.

I would suggest the MCU-121 which is just vg10 no damascus. It would likely be more used if I got one. In fact that's the one I originally wanted. But massdrop only had the damascus models at the time at a price I couldn't complain with vs other vendors.

Still the model I got was expensive cause I got the more expensive coriander (sp?) scales and damascus blade. But if they had the MCU-121 with the hole in the blade, I'd have gotten that instead.

I couldn't off the top of my head quote you the model ... they are very similiar to those mentioned I've had for some years ... one on a dark cocobola and VG10 that I carried some as a "gentleman's" folder as most would call it for nicer events ...

I also bought one in Quince and VG10 which is a beautiful knife and they are real nice knives in the price range they fell in ... both of mine have pocket clips and thumb studs and are smooth as butter opening and closing ...

I wouldn't carry it to replace a CRK or Hinderer or ZT but if you want a nice looking knife that is well made for casual use they can fill that role well ...

I'll see if I have a picture to add shortly …

The action on mine is very good, it's buttery smooth. Here's a quick cell phone snapshot:

BellaBlades BellaBlades , I have one coming in this week.
I have researching Mcusta for the last two week. It seems that everything posted here is true (as far as the internet is concerned).
They are a few years old in their design and build, but top quality for their price.
I love the photos of their Wood/Damascus models.
I'll post more when I have mine in hand.
