I've had my Mcusta Take (damascus handle) for a few months now, and I've always been annoyed by a small amount of blade play it has. If I tighten the pivot enough to eliminate it, the blade is much to difficult to use, but if I loosen it to a comfortable level, there's bladeplay. Not noticeable in use, but it still bugs me, and I'm wondering if it's normal for an Mcusta, especially one this expensive, to have bladeplay.

Really i don't think that is normal for a Mcusta.
I have a NIB Mcusta Tactility with cocobolo handles & it's super smooth.I didn't have to adjust anything.

Take yours apart maybe & see if there are any burrs are on the blade, washers or where it rotates.Otherwise send it back?At the price they cost it better be smooth!
It bothers me bad if a knife has blade play &/or if it doesn't open smooth.

It opens plenty smooth, but there is slight play. I've already sent it in after it was dropped by someone handling it (scratched up the handle and misaligned a spacer in the bottom of the handle), and when it was sent back the scratches were mostly taken care of but there was the same small amount of play.

I was thinking of getting a Take, but this makes me wonder.
How long is the handle and where is a service facility? The Take with Cocobolo is a pretty knife, but not if the quality is not there.
I wondered about the durability of teflon washers in a knife.
