I am seriously interested in this specially the MC33D folder with damascus blade. Please tell me more if you have one of these knives.

I am not sure of the model number that you're talking about, but I have a couple of the Mcusta folders with damascus blades. In my opinion, they are a great value. Razor sharp out of the box, tough knives, lasting edge, not to difficult to sharpen, great fit and finish. I'm a big fan.

This is the one with a bamboo design handle also damascus. Looking to find the cheapest deal.

It’s a nice little knife! I carry mine pretty frequently in the fob pocket of my jeans. It hasn't seen a whole lot of use yet though.

A couple of weeks ago, I started to write a long review of the Take but sort of forgot about it. I’ll try to finish it soon and post it somewhere…

I got mine off eBay. It seems like the prices there for MCusta knives are a lot lower than other places on the net.

I have been looking at Mcusta knives, specifically their Gent's folder in cocobolo. I have looked on ebay and elsewhere, best prices I have found were here

I have not bought from this yahoo store so I cannot vouch for them, but the prices were good.

I have a pair of Mcustas. Model #'s MC1(big'un) and MC5(little'un)

Anyway, I have the 3.25" blade model with Chinese Quince Burl scales and damascus blade with VG-10 core. A very nice knife for the price. The pivot pin and thumbstud are heat blued from the look of them and the pocket clip is actually integral with the stainless steel liner. They took the liner, slotted it, shaped it and bent it over. This pretty much eliminates the possibility of removing it unless you want it removed on a permanent basis but it also seems to be quite sturdy and makes this a deep pocket carry folder.

The other one is the Cocobolo scaled gent's knife also in damascus with VG-10 core, 2.75" in blade length, and boasts the same integral, deep pocket carry clip setup. I'm finding I don't really care for the way the clip was cut and shaped as I find it rather difficult to remove from my pocket. It's an open slot on the top and does not give you much to get hold of to extract the knife from the pocket. :grumpy:  Aside from that little caveat, it still carries well in the pocket. I can hardly tell it's in my pocket carrying it like a good ol' fashioned pocket knife. :)

Both folders have heavily sculpted scales that look a bit odd to some but make gripping the knives nothing short of sweet. At least to me...YMMV of course. Both have slot screw type pivot pins and torx fastener construction.

I feel like I got my money's worth and maybe more than that with the larger model. It's big enough to EDC, and good looking enough to elicit ooh's and aahhh's from people who see it.

Both knives came hair splitting sharp and are very useable.

Melike Mcusta...am seriously thinking about getting more of'em.

i have got one, damascus handle... it's great !
i first, i find it a bit small (blade is only 2,75" !) but after sometime, start really to appreciate it !
and VG-10 steel is perfect, so perfect that from all my knives, my M-custa is the sharpest !
i really recommand it ! :D

I might have to start saving my pennies.

I think you'll be happy you did. I've been carrying and using the larger quince scaled model and it is a very nice user. I'm really pleased with the performance I'm getting out of the VG-10 core damascus too. True to it's nature, the VG-10 takes a really scary edge and cuts really well. I've been using it to trim and prune the roses and herbaceous plants in the garden. The cuts in the plant material are so clean and easy to make it's a joy to use it in that respect. I can see why VG-10 was developed for the horticulture industry. IIRC, it was developed as a grafting knife steel where cuts have to be surgically clean and oft times precise. This steel delivers the goods and looks great while doing it. I'm a happy MCUSTA customer!

Geez, I better shut up. I'm typing this and calculating how I can get the buckies to go get another one of these folders.

I agree. I've been carrying one of the damascus handled/bladed models for a month or so. Very nice knife. MCusta is the company that makes the Browning knives, if that's of any interest. Take care.

I did order a Mcusta from the yahoo store linked above. The site said to be prepared for a 4-6 week wait. 2 days later, I got it in the mail! It's a damascus-blade, Cocobolo handle folder, and quite nice, extremely sharp. No complaints yet about it, but I have only had a day or 2 to play with it.

This is the only knife I have with the damascus steel blade, and it does get some looks. Hard-core knife carrier I'm not, but I use the Mcusta in my office to do double duty as a letter-opener just to show it off!

hi troople,
it's not really a full damascus blade, but neither "damascus blade with VG-10 core"...Did you compare it to other of your blades?
Personnaly, the more i use it, the more i enjoy it ! :D

I've ordered one from there too. Shipping is the same even for 3 items. But found the MC-33D slightly cheaper here. Anyone ordered from them before?
