Hi David, I googled McVoy-Wessling tools, no hits, then McVoy_Wessling hardware, got this. If you do a google you'll get the connection with McVoy. Many hardware stores had their own line of knives and tools made by others and marked for their hardware businesses. You'll see he worked for Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co, they carried a huge line of pocket knives marked with their name and I believe made mainly by Camillus if I remember correctly. You may be able to find the actual maker of your hatchet with a bit of research.
