I am going to the 1 day show on the 12th. Which custom folder makers should i keep an eye out for... are there any other tables that i should not expect but are worth seeing???
also who else is going and who is paying the big money to go the day early?
Hopefully i will see everyone there!!

James, this is a great show. I've only missed one since they started. For a nice folder, look for Ken Steigerwalt. Make sure to check out Al Polkowski's fixed blades, but get there early they don't last long. For some nice forged blades at very reasonable prices check out a guy named Morgan. He usually has the table all the way in the back on the far right as you enter. At the exact opposite corner, near side far left, you will find A.M.H. They have the most extensive selection of Victorinox SAKs I've ever seen as well as very good prices on high quality production folders. There are some real masters of the forged blade including proteges of the great Bill Moran. Make sure you check out Jay Hendrickson (sp?) and Rob Hudson. Also you will probably see ol' Bill himself wandering around and hopefully doing a demo or two. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time as there is a lot to see and it gets very crowded. I'll have my blade forums blue Native in sight and will be looking for others.

Phantom, I'll be there too. It'll be my first knife exclusive show. I was wondering are there usually a lot of tables selling production knives. I would just love to get some customs but can't afford it right now.

OK, once again, I'm out in the cold. Where is this show? Please don't say in Timonium or somewhere else in the far east.

It just a ****ing staple!!
Guess who...

St. Mary's County, Republik of Marilundt

The show is at the Holiday Inn Timonium Plaza, 410-252-7373. It is north of Baltimore at I-83 and Timonium Road. Take the Baltimore beltway around until you see I-83 north.

It is a custom knife show. Last year, there was only one production knife dealer. Last year I meet Nealy, Chavar, Hibben, Polkowski, Richter and a few others. I saw many, many more big name makers there.

If its ok with Les Robertson, I recommend Bladeforums people meet at his table around 12 noon, so we could put faces to names.

Pat Crawford will be there this year. I'll definitely want to talk to him and Al Polkowski.

Getting up early on Sunday isn't my strong suit, but I'll give it some effort.

James,

Check out Tom Anderson's work. He makes some cool folders.

Guys,

This just in......Al Polkowski will not be attending the Maryland show this weekend. Al has lost some days in the shop and did have enough time to get ready for the show.

He regrets he will not be able to make the show.

However, I will have a Banshee and a Dingo and Bob Neal will have 6 Polkowski's on his table (he will be next to me).

Yes, Damon and other fourmites my table will be fine as a meeting place.

Damon, you may be technically correct as far as production dealers go depending on how you define dealer but there were several people selling production blades. AMH, Wolf's Knives and a guy from Jersey whose name I can't remember but from whom I bought three knives makes at least three, and I saw several other tables with at least a few production pieces. It is primarily a custom show though and well worth the trip just to look.
