Mdl 42 handle weight

I asked if the handles were cast with holes or cast and then drilled on the BM forum.

I thought the current brochure said they were cast. Steve Harvey replied that they are probably not cast, but machined from a solid billet. Anyone know for sure?

In any case my thought is this.

If the lighter handle weight is going to effect those accustomed to the feel of the mdl 45 perhaps BM could alter the hole size/pattern or remove some holes to bring the weight back up to what it was.

My old BM brochure quotes the mdl 45 at 4.8 oz. and the new brochure quotes the mdl 42 at 4.1 (maybe it's 4.2). Should be acheivable, unless they're cast with the holes.

Just a thought.

I pretty sure the handles are cast. Not only does it say it in the new catalog, making a production balisong knife that has milled handles is not too feasable. And for the weight, titanium is lighter than regular metal.

They are cast.

The BM42 is considerably lighter than the 45. I found that it took some getting used to. You can read all about it on my web page.
