First of all, this feels a bit funny. I have been registered since 2004 and have been reading this forum almost daily for the last years. In many ways it feels like I’m no stranger here, but at the same time, I have not posted a single post... but few of you do know me personal and other have probably heard something or seen something sometime.

I´m going to go right on this one; My name is André Andersson, I´m a custom knifemaker and I´m going to promote my new homepage, http://www.northland.nu . I´m not going to make this an ordinary “check me out” post because one of the interesting things for you guys is that the planning of the page started after reading this post:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=700258

A few of you maybe were regular visitors to my old page and some may know my work from elsewhere. To sum it up, together with the pictures below, is that I´m a lot into the more “Arty” section of knifemaking, making both odd and extreme expressions with my knives. My knives are maybe not appealing to everyone, but I guess the more flavors added in knife-world, the more you have to choose from.

What I wanted with my homepage was making a simple but nice looking one that is easy to navigate. I have added more then 100+ knives, with pictures from both my workshop and other places, hoping to make your visit last more than 30 sec, and also with hope to handing out some inspiration for others.

I´m updating with a new knife every month (sometimes more than one), but now I will add sketches and WIP pictures between the knives. Join me on Facebook or my Mail-list (This page is at the moment only in Swedish but I´m working on it) to receive a newsletter every month. I will also be happy to trade links with others with homepages.

Well, it feels like I´m hitting you with a large brick of text right now so I will stop and let you enjoy the trip. See you on the other side of this link.

Feedback is really appreciated.

All the best,
André

André,

Impressive work. The "fantasy" pieces are not really my taste, but are very nicely made.

These two are real beauties:

I will check out your website and drool some more over my keyboard!;)

Kind regards,

Jos

First post and you've been around since 04! But with those awesome knives i can see why. You sir are an artist to the tenth degree, very very nice work.
And thanks for posting the nice pictures of your artwork in knives.

Doug,

Very unique and beautiful knives !
I saw your website, and especially your short blade models are my favorite.
Thank you for showing your wonderful knives !

Always enjoy seeing your knives. Would be great if you started regularly posting them.
Your knives are always artifully designed, well executed and from beautiful and interesting materials.

Your father's knives are outstanding as well.

Some guys take a little time to warm up to posting. Better late than never, though - and that's a memorable entrance. Beautiful work.

Roger

Andre, welcome, and thanks for sharing your work with us. Your website is really well done! The design and layout are very appealing and the photography is very good too. Also, I just have to say Jotunheims Bane is simply incredible, truly an exceptional work.

You certainly posted with gusto for your first post. Wow, what a collection of pieces and display of incredible talent.

Hello André, my friend!
Welcome!

For those who do not know André, he has barely
reached his 30th birthday and has been forging
amazing Damascus knife art since he was 19 years old...

Here are a few of his recent creations as displayed
in a double spread from Michael Talanian's collection
in my recent book "The World of Art Knives" (2010)...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Wow  I never thought I would see an "over the top" Puukko but there it is. Amazing, just amazing.

Hi Andre,

Nice that you have decided to finally post here. You have progressed amazingly over the past few years. I know of a few collectors that are very happy with your work.:thumbup:;)

Marcel

Thanks everyone!

Yea, some people are slow starters, I´m probably one of them is certain situations. But now I´m here and I don't think you have seen the last of me. I will post pictures here on BF as they come and maybe I will find time participate in some discussions:)

David: The new book was incredible (and then I´m not only thinking of my pages :D ) Way to go!

Andre, I love art knives and daggers and have always enjoyed your work. It was great to see your knives in David's "The World of Art Knives", too!

Best,

Bob Betzner

Andre, good to see you here and I am glad you have started to post here. The web page looks good, the gallery by year is a nice touch. I am generally not much for art knives however, you have a gift for combining textures, and colors in a very fine rhythm which subtle. Bravo!

Eric

The knives Andre is producing are truly remarkable and I just love the whole art knife genre out of his shop. I have an early piece and someday will have to get something of his current style of work. He was also kind enough a few years back to put me onto Roger Bergh and I was able to add a piece from him. There are many great Scandanavian knifemakers creating wonderful and exciting knives and Andre we all look forward to seeing more of your knives in the forum.

while I really enjoy studying the excellent photos in Dr. Darom's books, it would be awesome to have a more or less 'real time' expose of your work as it unfolds.

One of the best things about this forum, and forums in general, is that you can really get to know a person and either the evolution or their work, or their ideas. The gulf of space and time is bridged through the internet, which never ceases to amaze me.

Personally, I'm very pleased that you've decided to embark on this course. Not only will I and other regulars benefit from your integration into this community, but I think you will as well.

If you and Bruce got together, I could imagine a real working gunblade!
