I have ran many searches throgh the archives. I keep finding threads of posts from people that think large knife companies should make a line that consists of only the products they want. It also seems that Cold Steel catches the brunt of it. I see lots of "I would respect CS again if the you drop ____,____, and ____ from the line." You people make me sick :barf:
My question is what does it matter? It doesn't occur that other people may like those products?
Just because they make them doesn't mean you have to buy them.
What they are doing with the cheaper kives made from 420 and 440A is trying to get in on the biggest share of the knife market the low to mid price range. Can you blame them for that? Its called survival! All the majority of the buying populace want these days is a low price. I see it all the time. Why else is 90% of products on our store shelves from Tawain,China or where ever else cheap labor is abound? Aside from common beliefs there is no big profit sales anymore. The markets are so competitive that profits are usually 1 or 2 and always less than 10 cents on the dollar. Which is why so many big corporations are failing. In todays market a company has to be tough, but above all else it must have a broad market interest. That is exactly what Cold Steel is looking for. I simply hope they get what they need to survive, because I personally like many of their products. Not all of them Mind you, but I will not condemn the ones I don't like. I just won't buy them. It's that simple!
