I got the trapper today. I am working on yellow handles to start my slip joint collection. Got it at tractor supply, it was the display model. Box was gone but they gave me the display box from a hunter and said I could keep the sheath as someone already bought the hunter and left the box. $40 a bit high but I am alright if I can buy local. Anyone else really like these yellow handled case knives?

I carry a yellow 3318 just like yours everyday. I also have the full size trapper, slim trapper, sodbuster jr, and peanut. All in yellow, so yeah I guess I really like em too.:)

Very cool! That's a classic duo if there ever was one.

I love Case's yellow Delrin. I have a slimline Trapper, Sodbuster Jr and a Peanut in yellow Delrin and they're among my very favorites. When I got my 6375 large Stockman it was a coin-toss whether to go with the yellow Delrin or Amber bone. I went with bone, but the yellow was a very close second.

I believe the case yellow trapper in cv mayb the go to hard use knife among traditional users or a close second behind a buck 110.

Delrin is somewhat a vintage material but I don't get the yellow fan base. It it the fact that it is yellow? Is yellow the first use of Derlin by Case before they used it to make fake stag?

I only have one yellow case, and it's a slimline. Great knife for the money.

I just wished Case made a single blade swayback in yellow delrin, with CV steel .

To the OP, congrats on the knives.

Case used true Dupont 'Delrin' for the first time in 1967, in BLACK for the 2138 Sod Buster, though they used yellow 'composition' handles on other knives prior to that. Yellow synthetics in general have classically been associated with hard-working folding knives from several makers (Case, Camillus, Ka-Bar, etc), and it's been the source of fond memories of hunting/fishing adventures as well, in trapper & muskrat patterns and yellow-handled 'fish knives' in particular (I've collected a few of those, for that reason). Hence the nostalgia for the color, in part anyway...

And I personally don't remember Case ever making fake stag at all (they do occasionally 'jig' bone to look like it, and they call it 'Bone Stag'), though other similar synthetics have been used by Schrade and Camillus for that purpose.

I used to have a few, traded some. Will always keep my yellow
butterbean, with cv blades.

A yellow Case Trapper was the only knife my grandpa carried in his pocket while I was growing up. He carried that thing everywhere. Work, church, fishing...when he passed, I made sure at his funeral that it was in his pocket. I bought one that day, and have carried it ever since. When someone mentions a Case knife, I instantly think of a yellow trapper, and my grandpa. I guess that's why I love them so.

That is an excellent way to start your collection. Case yellow are true classics.

Wasn't the yellow color originally intended to aid in locating a dropped knife?

I can't think of a better way to start a trad collection. My yeller handle case sod Jr is one of my favorite. I also got the full size yellow trapper, All cv.

Great looking pair of classic knives. I'm rather fond of the good old basic yellow Delrin Case knives myself, as well the Buck variety.

I love the Case Yellow handled knives and am trying to collect just about every model that I can get my hands on. It's especially fun looking for certain models they no longer make.
