Mean Street or Lean Mean Street-which would you want?

I love my Lean Mean Street. The LMS is plenty heavy duty enough to tackle anything I could try with a knife. The slimmer profile makes for easier slicing (IMHO).

I struggled with this also, so I got both...

I'd love to be able to afford both, but since the price on them has gone up, I'm just getting one. Plus just finding someone that has one for sale is a chore in itself. Since you got both, which one do you like better or use more?

scottybuck,
I have the Desert Warfare MS, which is .230" in thickness. That puts it between the LMS and regular MS(though a bit closer to the regular MS). I really like it, it definitely will slice, and does not seem too thick for the size of knife that it is. For me, I would prefer the DWMS the most, followed by the LMS, and lastly, the standard MS.
I like the fact that it(as a small fixed blade) is thicker than most any comparably sized folder available. The 3/16" of the LMS is actually available in some folders(such as the Buck Strider).
Though I would never conclude too much without actually seeing an LMS first. It is just my preference based on what I know.

I used to have a regular mean street but i sold it because it was too thick to be practical. Its a good knife though. If I could do it over i'd get a LMS, or better yet, the folder when it comes out.

The LMS is a great blade for cutting, and is well balanced.
If the chips were down, I would rather have the regular MS, or the DWMS, which I have the 5/16 version of. It is like a minature crowbar. (to accompany my SH-II)
I think I could tear down a garage with this thing. Beefier blade, and fits my hand better.
I actually traded one of the LMS's I had towards it. I don't regret it.
(plus I got a rockin sheath..GPB..)
While the $$ may seem a lot, the Busse line is a rugged, durable offering. Use the hell out of it. Then wonder why you didn't buy one sooner.
Be patient, either of the 3 models surface a couple times a month. But don't forget, snooze and lose.
The other nice thing, as you can see from the forum postings, these knives don't lose much in value.

If you can find either one, you'll be happy either way. My main use MS is the .230 thick Desert Warfare run and it fills a lot of needs.
What we need is for Jerry to get another model out to replace the darn things already.
IMHO, of the entire discontinued selection of Busses the Mean Street will be missed the most
