A knife I have always wanted but is no longer avaliable is the Busse Mean Streets. Now, there are variations called the Lean Mean Streets, which I assume is the same blade format made with thinner steel, but what is the Meaner Streets? Thanks in advance.

The er's, Meaner, are at badmojo under the New Line-up, Mean Street, it's realy a Meaner Streets, the pommel is differant from the Mean Street.

I think the Leaner and Meaner have slightly different grinds - Meaner being full-height and Leaner being about 2/3 of the way to the spine. Or is my memory just going???

Edit: Yep, check the photo thread, page 6, post 103 (third from the top) for side-by-side pics of the Leaner and Meaner streets:

Post #111 at the bottom of the same page has some pretty cool leaner pics, too. Note that the pommel on the latest incarnation has changed from the older Mean Streets.

The Mean Street, the Lean Mean Street, and the Desert Warfare Mean Street were all of the same basic design.

Mean Streets were sold as 1/4", but were seen under and over that thickness, some almost a full 5/16".

Lean Means were, I think, 0.20, maybe 0.220, I'd have to mic a couple of mine.

Desert Warfares were supposed to be under, like the Leans, but I have seen several thicknesses ranging from 0.20 to 0.297.

The Meaner and Leaner Meaner were recent incarnations, with a handle somewhat reminiscient of the Active Duty, and a blade config like a Bandicoot.

Hope this helps.

The Meaner and Leaner Meaner Streets have the same primary grind angle but the LMS "runs out of steel" at that angle and is hence a sabre. The thicker steel of the current MS allows that angle to go full height....so same basic geometry.
