Solstice: You lucky Hog you! I take my family to the Grand Canyon and Yosemite every year. But we had to skip it this year. It's on next year though.

Great pics. Was there much water in the river when you were there?

Low and slow bro....but freaking cold!!!

So how did the Meaner do there? Light cutting, whittling, etc?

I gotta ask. This is something my wife claims has been going on since she started camping there as a child. Do you hear people shouting "Wilbur"! at night. It has happened the 5 times I have been there and seems like a tradition.

im actually going there this sun for three nights. i was wondering, does the park have any kind of restrictions on knives? i can see how carrying a pocket knife or an edc like the meaner is no problem. but what if i brought a hellraiser in a sheath connected to my bag. would there be a problem if i bring it around hikes and public places?

Man, is that some beautiful scenery. Yosemite is on my short list of places I need to visit in the next 5 years or so...

We went out to the Black Hills area at the end of May. When we were hiking around Devil's Tower I wore it on my hip. These German tourists stopped us to take a picture of them. They kept eyeballing my knife. I'm sure they were a little puzzled. Oh well.

Here it is outside the Bullock Hotel in Deadwood:

Man, my arteries all cringe at the sight of that sheath on a motorcycle. My knives come off when I swing a leg over.

Use a Busse...bite your tongue! LOL...didn't get a chance to use it yet bro. ;)

Elmer is what I believe they still say. Heard a few people shouting it out this year. We use to scream when I was a kid there, my folks tell me they also yelled it when they went there as teenagers. It's a name of a bear! Which there was alot of while I was there...seems they are having a wee bit of a problem with them this year!

Wouldn't suggest strapping anything too large on your side or day pack. Yes it's legal ( as long as it's not concealed ) but you might get stopped or questioned by a Ranger and you would get stared at by plenty of the sheep that visit the park. Being a national park it typically follows the same rules as the state parks, which follow the knife laws of the state they are in. Your call....

Brian, WOW! excellent pics....happy to hear you had a great time, thanks for sharing.
