Ok, I thought I knew a thing about the meaners streets, then I came upon this one which I recently scored:

As you can see from the logo, this is an earlier production .23" (.22" with coating) Flat ground so one of the original meaner with the small holes and old school green linens. But I've never seen one coated, has anyone else? Was a coating even an option? I've only seen satin and double cut before. I've asked around and nobody can show me another one. The way back machine is not working but I had always thought that they were only. Was this at a show or Ganza? Has anyone else seen these around? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

This one lists a Black crinkle with Snake

The Green linens were DC

Not sure where it came from.

i thought these were only available from skunk.

and there were quite a few options, but i don't specifically recall blk/grn linen. i only bought an le.

Assuming it is handle swapped may not be accurate. I don't know, but to me it looks like it could have been part of a unique set matched to this FSH which was only .24 thick convex grind. Same logo, same colors, both very rare.

it's obviously a fake. i'll take it for $5.

Thanks Doug, you are always watching my back :D

Thanks Jim, I should have known. You are the man! Do you know where my toothless ARK came from? :D

I'll bet nobody changed the scales, it probably came that way. There were probably a few put in the company store and this may have been sold before the frame shot was taken. Now I just need to get my hands on a few more of these:D

Back when the Meaner and Leaner Meaner were introduced Snake Skin Micarta wasn't nearly as rare as it has become.

Yes, it was a standard offering on the Busse site, then offered at the company store. The Model T Street was a Company Store only offering.

A while back someone had a web link where we could see old Busse pages, anyone remember or know where we can find it?

Sweet! Thank you!

Here's the original offering page, no pics :(

Here's the options page with the blade and handle options that comes up:

Interesting little history of handle and blade coating options,

Edit: Saw Lui's question after I posted: The Model T Street is the first mid thickness Meaner, only offered with Black Micarta handles and black crinkle finish, thus Model T. You can have it in any color as long as its black. Only offered on the Company Store.

Another Edit, According to a search of BF, the Meaners were projected to be offered in Sept of 2004. The meaner pictured there has the old E handle logo, the Fusion Steel Heart had not come out yet. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=311751&highlight=meaner+street

WOW Dwayne, that's some impressive research. I thank you for your help. You are a true HOG for your knowledge and resourcefulness.

You are very welcome. I've been shuffling around here since the E handle days, it does feel good to still be able to help out every once in a while. :)

Sometimes us old timers tend to feel pushed aside, is there assisted living for geriatric swine? :p

As I recall, when the Company Store offered the Model T there were some variations offered with different slabs as well.

The Leaner has the most neutral balance IMHO, the Meaner balance more to the handle and the Model-T towards the blade, it has a narrower handle. The 'Tweeners' are closer to the Leaners in balance.

Meaner, Model-T, Tweener, leaner
