This has been on Busse I have always wanted but there are so many variants. Can anyone educate me...

Was there a really thin one like a Boney AD

In 2004 there was a leaner meaner, which was .155" thick and was a saber ground. They also had the leaner meaner Limited Edition.

Originally, back in 2004, the Meaner Street was a full height flat grind, at 0.22" thick. The Leaner Meaner Street was sabre ground and 0.15".

Then a few years ago, Busse released the MiliGanzaa Meaner Street, which was sabre ground, but in-between thickness. Since then, there has been a variety of Show knives, many of which are flat ground, but 0.17" thick. So the un-official name of Tweener (Tweaner) was coined for these.

Are you confused yet?

I would say first find a cheap one on the exchange and see if you like the feel of it in your hand, I dont know why but some people dont like them. Yes people do prefer the thin ones. Heres a side shot of a couple.

Meaners are one of my absolute favorite Busse knives. And more particularly Leaners.

Here's another pic, the bottom 5 are Leaners.

Leaners are very hard to find but I have been fortunate.

Resinguy pretty well nailed the history

.220 Jungle Meaner, Model T (in black ;)) , Sage 'Tweener' Meaner, Leaner Meaner Street. Notice the difference in the talon hole on the Tweener compared to the others. The Model T has a narrower handle, it balances a bit more blade heavy than the others.

The 4 on the left are from the original offering, the 5 on the right are more resent. The 2 on the far right are flat ground .170. Again notice the talon holes.

WOW, are you saying that the .22" flat ground meaners were offered with a coating also? I didn't know that. I don't have any of those yet...

They are nice knives if you can't find an old Mean Street like the one at the bottom:p
