Meant to post descriptive photos in a past 313 Muskrat thread finally found my O2it. 300$s

"Production started in 1972 and ended in 1998. "The 313 Muskrat was manufactored by Camillus for Buck and was added to the line in 1972 along with the 311,315 and 317." (Oden, Knife World, p.28, Jan.2000). It's usually found in only three variations, blade tang stamped BUCK,313,Made in USA; blade tang stamped BUCK,313,USA with one nail nic groove ground in scale on front and BUCK, 313,USA with a nic groove ground in both scales. Not considered extremely rare they are still sought after by trappers for everyday use. Other manufactors made similar models.
Price varies greatly by quality. Buck currently offers "like" models made in China, under diffferent model numbers with several scale types."

I love the muskrat two blade type knife. Unfortunately don't have a buck but do have a Schrade 77OT and a Western 236 that have what I believe is called a turkish clip blade.

I use to use them in the initial field dressing part of cleaning a deer. The smaller blades (than a 110) let me reach down in and cut loose the innards fairly easy without cutting into anything I didn't want to cut into.

Beauty of the two blades is naturally when one gets dull, you have the other one. It use to take me both blades to get a deer field dressed and skinned.

I still carry a couple of the stainless westerns in my back pack.

Thanks for that tidbit on the Muskrats, 300!!!! You can now scratch this off your O2it list :)
