Measurement Questions on SH & BM

Hi everyone!

I'm still trying to decide which to buy. My questions are:

Is the blade length measured from the scales to the tip or just the sharpened part, meaning from the tip back to the choil(I think thats what that groove is called)?

And secondly, what is the depth of the blade on the SH and the BM?

As I have posted before, I want something that will chop "as good as" the Brute I have. And as I've stated, it does have the edge layed back so it's NOT the original chisel point edge from the factory. And even though the steel is softer than Infi I've not had any problems with it dulling quickly. Mainly because most of the stuff I hack at is green, at least right now.

I won't be chopping anything much over 2" and primarily stuff that's only 1/4" to 3/4" but sometimes alittle over an inch. I do want the capibility of chopping up to around 2" though for making shelter if ever need be.

Thanks all,

Dave

Dave,
The choil is included in the blade length. The thickness, or
width is 1 and 11/16th on my BM. I think either one will do you.:D

Dave, I measured a couple Steel Hearts and the length from the scale to the tip ranged anywhere from 7 11/16 to 7 13/16. The length of the actual edge is right around 7". Width was right on with Chips measurement.

My vote goes to the Steel Heart:D

Get the Steel Heart, you won't regret it. And if you later decide you want the BM the SH will be easy to sell. Unlike many other manufacturers knives right now, the market for Busse Knives is still extremely strong.
