Meat Slicer

I bought a meat slicer for $5 at a lawn sale. My FIL found a little Williams Sonoma sign on it. Not sure whether it will be any use but worth playing with for $5. How do you sharpen these slicers? It looks like it has serrations on the back, but they might not be true serrations, more like the little dimples you see on some santokus so the food doesn't stick to the knife.
