Shot this tender young doe this afternoon on my property. 18 month old most likely. 80 yards freehand, I was walking to a stand when I spotted her in the woods.dropped her @ 1715 by 1820 I had hams, backstraps, and tenderloins soaking in icy salt water. I will marinate one Backstrap till Thursday morn.
I got to use my first knife, a red white & blue Mycarta O-1 skinner. I am very pleased with the skinner, ergonomics and edge holding.
