Scagel-style knives are my absolute favorite style of knife. This was an attempt (last November I think), at a Scagel-style hunter. I opted to trim it out in nickel silver instead of brass, and ended up making a ragged-looking pin - the nickel silver was harder than the brass I've worked. Anyway, it didn't flare right. I also mis-drilled the original pin hole, and had to fill it with a piece of mosaic pin. The blems are small, and overall I was pleased with the result. I figured it'd make a great using knife, and it has. Sharp as hell and holds a good edge. Zips through Alabama whitetail like butter! Specs:
- 11 inches overall, 5 1/2" blade
- forged 5160
- 800 grit finish (I think)
- mule-deer crown pommel
- stacked leather, water buffalo horn, nickel-silver, and red, white and blue fiber spacers.
Thanks again for looking!
