Med student kills intruder with samurai sword

When times get hard crime always increases and in this day and age no matter what you use gun or in this case a sword you should be protected by the law not prosicuted by it hopefully he will not be charged.

Shows the efficancy of a sword and what can be done with them in two quick strokes.

Who says swords are out dated weapons.

Got what he deserved.

In an area like a garage a sword would be an extremely effective weapon. Just enough room to swing but not enough room to get away.

I would be willing to bet that it was only one stroke. Same stroke that cut off the hand lacerated the chest.

A sharp functional sword in the Katana style can cut through 5+ full human torso's.

Just saying.

The horror of some dude slicing your arm off and your chest open is sweet.

Could not have happened to a better person though.

Ugh... I was so tired last night when I read the post title I thought it said "instructor" instead of "intruder." Hope he gets off easy...

Its a kind of old story but now they think it was four young men. Only one had the katana and they surrounded the intruder. Who knows what is really true, but I hope that this was not the case. I believe in self defense especially in the house. Honestly, if an intruder was in my house I would defend myself, but I wouldn't hurt the guy if he did not try attack me or my family.

It was one intruder who heard the noise in his garage, approached with his sword, and was confronted by the intruder. The intruder moved towards the man and backed him into a corner, at which point he struck once, nearly severing the intruder's left hand and lacerating the upper body. Also, he was not charged (though the intruder's sister thinks he should be) Police released their findings here. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/sep/17/police-student-swordsman-didnt-mean-kill/
