If you have a Arktica, like it or not? Looks like it's close to Grayman Satu? I've read about D2 steel but never had a knife with it, what do you think?

I had one, could not cut anything with it the blade stock is so thick and Medford did not make the plunge line steep enough. It was embarrassing trying to cut up a cardboard box with a $1000 knife (I had Ti hardware and 3V) and the edge just not being able to cut through the material.

I've got one and I use it as a primary edc. I've been carrying mine since early November and have had no issues with it so far.
I did rework the edge a bit but that's it so far. It's obviously not a great slicer but it does well enough for me.
Charlie Mike had a good suggestion about getting it modded. I may do that eventually once I'm able to afford the work but for now I'm happy with mine.
It is a large knife but I'm a big dude so the weight is not an issue with me. It carries a bit heavy in the pocket until you get used to it but then you hardly notice it. Once broken in it opens and closes quite smoothly. Lock up is early but solid so far. It holds well in the hand and through a variety of grips. The ice breaker works well on many things and despite a bit of staining I've got no issues with it.
The jumping is a bit aggressive but smooths out with use a but. I accelerated that by sanding the rougher edges a bit.

I've handled the Arktika a few times and owned a Satu. Besides being large knives, they are not similar.

No I didn't buy one, I ended up buying three Hinderer's. If i could find a used one I'd probably sell/trade a couple of Hinderer's....then send it to Josh @ REK.

If a thousand dollar knife needs significant modifications to not suck as a knife, then it is a scam from the start. I'm sorry, but Medford knives are kind of a joke to me. D2 for a knife over $300 with blade stock so thick that it can't cut more than paper with any efficiency? I'd have to be high to want that. His factory edges are said to be great, which they have to be otherwise the knife literally won't cut, I mean he uses nearly quarter inch stock on almost all knives.

I don't want the Arktika, mainly because the design does not appeal to me, and the jimping all over looks like a kick to the balls for my hands.

But to say the knives are a joke that cannot cut things is just being silly...even sillier than you think the knives are. ;)

I always thought the Artica was a sort of ripoff of the Strider, SnG style knives. If you look at the handle the shape is very similar with the sort of wider butt, semi pistol grip thing. Even the blade looks like an SnG blade, with some changes made so it isn't blatant.

I always wondered if that was a coincidence.

There isn't much resemblence to the Satu in look. I think he was referring to them both being large expensive ti framelocks with d2 blades.
