Medford enthusiasts - question on glass breaker

I've got a November 2015 Medford Praetorian Ti - the big guy with a glass breaker that does not have a hole in it (for paracord or similar) like the newer Praetorian Ti knives have.
Does anyone know what type of steel that glass breaker is from that time frame? I have a drill press but if it is something like D2 steel I'm not sure I can drill through it. I've had the
knife apart for tweaking, sanding and re-anodizing so I know I've blown the warranty - not concerned about it. So I'll pull out that piece to drill it if it's something that can be drilled.
Oh yeah, my anodizing after sanding down with 800, 1000 and 2000 grit and doing my Titanium tricks:

The original surface on this side looked like it was gone over with about an 80 grit sanding belt - couldn't quite get them all smooth so I'm calling that the wind the Eagle is flying in ;)

Might be best to message amy or greg. They respond pretty much everytime. I wouldn’t mention you’re modding, not because they dislike it but because it would get your answer faster

After trying a concrete carbide tip drill (fairly used), a couple other titanium drill bits and a diamond dremel bit I think I can say this is D2 steel. I know D2 is what they use for their current knives and the results from what I tried (barely a dimple in the glass breaker) make it very likely this was also D2. I've got a machine shop nearby I'll see what they want for punching a hole through this - looking to get a 3/16" hole for paracord.
