I'm back to dreaming about nice titanium framelocks again guys..

If you had to choose between the two knives in the subject line for an everyday carry, which would you go with? Keep in mind, I'm asking about your preferences not mine. Does the Medford or the Hinderer speak to you more and suit your needs better?

(Also, I know about Greg's outspoken views. I'm really wanting to keep this discussion about blades please!)

I've owned an XM-24 and a couple larger Medfords (as well as multiple other knives from both brands), although not a Marauder-H, and I'd pick the XM-24 any day.

It weighs considerably less, it doesn't use a proprietary pivot screw, and while both are expensive knives it also costs less and will likely hold its value better. If you're into customization, Hinderer is also hard to beat on that front.

I’ve always wanted to try a Medford, but they’re just too expensive IMO for what you get, especially if you compare them to Hinderer.
And like Deadpool said, the Medford is gonna be HEAVY. The XM-24 is about the biggest knife I like to carry… ~7.5oz

Personally, I can't justify Hinderer. I used to have one, but it didn't impress me on any front and there were a few design and quality issues I couldn't get over. The Hinderer-designed ZTs are way too close for a much lower price, and the Spartan Harsey folder is better in both design and quality IMO at a similar price (but a considerably lower street price).

I haven't tried that Medford but I do have an older Praetorian Genesis. It's poorly machined, feels clunky in the hand, carries large, and requires a flick of the wrist to open. On the other hand, it has a certain handmade charm to it, locks up tight, slices much better than Hinderer or Spartan due to the hollow grind, and has a very distinctive and imposing aesthetic. So despite its flaws, it had more compelling reasons to keep it than the Hinderer did. It's not for everyone, but they offer something interesting for the right kind of collector, especially at the secondary prices.

Never owned a Marauder H or an XM24. But I do currently own a Medford Slim Midi and have owned multiple XM18's over the years.

I've got XL or XXL hands and the flipper on the Hinderers just never agreed with me. Digs into my index finger pretty bad. Never picked one up but a non flipper XM18 is on the list at some point.

I agree that they are both overpriced for what you get, but between the Slim Midi and XM18 that I've got I'll take the Medford any day. Better ergo's (for me), and the hollow grind on the Slim Midi cuts like a laser compared to the grind on my past Hinderers.

Arya: 'It's too heavy!'

Syrio Forel: 'Grow stronger child!'

I prefer a knife that has some weight to it. I only have half of this comparison, but I want the other half.

I carry a SHF (L): it's like a MKT. Equals?
