Inspired by a XV century knife found in the river Thames.
Blade is forged in 3mm thick C70 steel (analogous to 1075).
Back of blade is left unpolished.
Sides are ground to 600 grit.
Blade has been triple normalized, then differentially hardened by partial immersion in oil and fire tempered to light brown for half an hour.
I left the fire browining as decoration of the blade isnetad of grinding it out afterwards.
Handle in rosewood and german silver, pins in german silver.
The wood has been oil-finished with boiled lineseed oil.

Yeah, what boltman said! :D

Just kidding. That's a cool knife Alarion, I like the cross in the handle and its overall shape. When I saw that handle I thought it looked like Tulipwood. Very nice!

great looking knife. I like to see some knifes that are beautiful functional with out being over worked. The idea of recreating historical knives apeals to me.

Very nice

Me too Reg! I've been meaning to do some medieval belt knives myself for some time now. Their general shape appeals to me. Nice knife Alarion!
