The inspiration for this one came from a simple medieval all-day using knife. My version was made with a some more sophisticated material mix.

The blade is a mosaic damast, a basket weave ladder pattern of 16 bars with each bar having 80 layers. Front and butt plate of the handle are made from shibuichi (25 % silver, 75 % copper). My own damascus and shibuichi, of course.

The handle is made of old, nice sambar stag from which i fortunately have a quiet huge stock. Natural colour, this is. The handle is a threaded construction with the butt plate threaded to the tang.

OAL of the knife is 350 mm or 14". The blade is 212 mm or 8 1/2". Quiet big knife.

Very nice, I would suggest folks to click on the larger view to really
appreciate the lines of this knife.

That is a beautiful knife. I love the color combinations of the stag and shibuichi.
