Simple knife, nothing fancy. More medievalesque than a true medieval reproduction.
There is a nice hamon on there but to keep it closer to medieval specs, I did not try to make it stand out.

Blade length: 5.875" OAL: 10"
Grind: flat
Steel: 1084
Handle: African Mahogany
Bolsters & pins: Brass

Patrice,
You are fast becoming a top-notch maker!
That knife has class. Sometimes less is more.

You probably think this post is about you.:D

Nice knife Patrice. My favorite from you, keep it up.

That is a beautiful knife Patrice. Very nice work.

Patrice,
I REALLY like the front 87% of the knife. It has a nice clean shape... I like the blade and I like the clean bolsters and handle flow. What I'm not real sure of is (what appears to be) the additional shaping of the handle toward the butt. It kind of breaks the flow for me... draws my eye right there. If I cover that part up, though, I see a really cool knife. Good work.

You guys crack me up. :D:D:D

The thinking behind the butt carving was to give the plainer wood a little humph and to mimic to some extent some of the more exotic shapes I saw on medieval daggers. But as you can see I am not sure it worked that good. But then again it is growing on me.

On a side note, Bruce Bump was right. After the take down, making something simpler is hard. Maybe that's partly why I tried something with the handle. :(

Thanks for all the good words!

Pat "Vain and liking it!" ;)
