I just sold my military and I am looking for a knife to replace it. The millie is a great knife but I want to try something a bit smaller. Features I want:

price: less than $200
3-3.5" blade with good steel (VG10, S30V, etc)
Frame lock or good liner lock (as good as millie)
Light weight: 4oz max, preferably less than 3oz
narrow: I dont want a thick knife. something thin, flat, slim, etc. I dont mind if it is a bit wide.

I had a sebenza and very much liked the simplicity of the design but felt it was overbuilt, had poor ergonomics, and was overpriced. I am looking at the Bradley Alias 2 (ergonomic sebenza?) and the Stretch 2 FRN (Awesome handle to blade size ratio), but I am open for other suggestions. Something like a thin scaled, ergonomic sebenza would be awesome.

Thanks for your help!

I find the ball dent on my Alias II to be a bit to stiff. It really tears up my thumb to open it one handed. I do like it's small size.

Are you adverse to the shape of the Sage II? I find it carries quite a bit larger than the Alias (it's quite wide) but, IMO is much superior to the Alias II in terms of ergonomics.

Hope that helps,
Scooby

Have you looked at the Spyderco Sage RIL Ti? 3" blade, 3.88 oz titanium S30V framelock. Around $170

*EDIT* scoobyaz beat me to it

Check out the Boker Hyper and M-Type. They're both 440C, which might be little low-end, but they're thin enough that they carry incredibly well. My Hyper has been through the wash several times because I'm constantly forgetting about it when I empty my pockets.

They're also way under your budget. (both available for less than $40)

Here's a thread with excellent pictures of both:

I finally found my favourite EDC. Traded a Strider PT CC for it. Eric Elson ESP 3 in frame lock with Ti on one side and black G10 on the other. $300 price is out of your target range but keep looking.

3 in cpm 154 blade...4 in closed... 3/8 thick...1 1/4 wide...75 g weight...stonewash finish on Ti scale and a rubbed finish on blade that looks lik damascus.I carry mine without the clip, real thin for pocket carry.

I didn't want to spend the money but after handling the knife at a knife show I realized it was what I was looking for after trying a lot of other knives.

Don't have a digital camera and wouldn't know how to stuff pics in this teletype machine anyway

Yeah it does help. I dont mind if the knife is a bit wider, but I dont like leaf shaped blades. I like the long narrow blade of the millie and was looking for something similar.

I also forgot to mention that I'd prefer a full flat grind.

Metro Razor, by Black Bear Knives. Google them.
This folder knocked out my CQC-7.
