just ordered a meercat for my brother in law for xmas, he needed a new edc, he was carrying an old delica, thought the meercat would be just the ticket - anyone out there have one? any/all info appreciated ........

I am carrying one in my pocket now. Great little knife. It cuts well, fits in my hand like a larger knife but doesn't send the sheeple runnig for comer when I open a box or something with it. The phantom lock is a neat addition as well.
 
I love the Meercat. It is a very practical little knife. The handle is thick enough that it fits my hand nicely along with the finger grips. The blade shape is very practical and useful both for utility or as a skinner if one is so inclined. The quality blade steel is great (440C) and price cannot be beat. The only downside is that it is much smaller than a Delica. If you brother in law is used to a mid-sized knife, that could be a problem.
 
Errrr... isn't it Meekrat? I also heard on the Spyderco forums that they were coming out with the S-shaped blade as seen in the prototypes and different colors!! Can anyone confirm this?
 
"Meek-Rat?" Or "Meer-Kat?" The placement of those two middle consonants could be verrrry important...:) But of course a Spydie--by any other name--would STILL cut as sweetly, eh?
