How does the Phantom Lock on the Meerkat function?
My dad is looking at getting one, and I cannot advise him on the lock, as I just don't know.
I figure some people here will know, and may even be able to provide pics or links to more info.:)

I would try youtube for demos. I played with one at a store. It is weird and hard to explain, you slip the handles against each other to unlock. It was tricky at first, but I can see it getting easier. It is pretty small though, and that adds to the difficulty of manipulating it.

True story: I handed one of my friends a meerkat opened and told him if he could close it he could have it. An hour later I closed it for him and put it back in my pocket. He was pissed:mad:

My girl has a meerkat and loves it. Cool lock, wish they would use it on a larger knife (Sage 5 maybe? :D)

That would be cool, although the Sage series honors other knife makers, and isn't the Phantom lock a Spyderco design? That is why I doubt we will see a Sage with the Comp lock as well.
