Got my Meerkat today. Great little knife, but that's hardly a surprise -- the G10 Navigator is one of my favorite small knives and I wouldn't have expected the Meerkat to be any less desirable.
Overall, fit and finish were very reasonable for a knife in this price range. However, the tip of the blade protruded slightly when the knife was closed. It was readily apparent that the problem was that the knife wasn't closing completely. I know I probably should have returned the knife, but I decided to fix the problem myself by taking a few hundreths of an inch off the ricasso with a half round diamond hone. The knife is fine now, and it probably took less time than re-packaging and shipping the knife would have. Besides, this way I don't have to be Meerkatless.
However, it occurs to me that there's no way for Spyderco to know that there was a problem since I didn't send the knife back. So, just to let you know, great knife but mine had a QC problem.
