Meet our kagas katne kami. Pix.

Here's the master kami who makes our kagas katne khukuris down at shop 1. He will be busy for awhile making 90 steel bladed kagas katnes for us.

Again, they did not bother to send his name but here is what he looks like. Gelbu took this picture on his recent journey. About 95 degrees and 98% humidity when picture was taken.

Thank you for answering all of my questions. Your patience is legion.
I can not find in your cataloge or web page a reference to a kagas katne khukuri. Can you enlighten me?

What? Another knife? Don't you have enough of those things already?
How many does one person need?

Kagas katne means "paper cutter" and it is a small khukuri used for opening envelopes and the like. Usually not functional for anything but cutting paper but the ones I have coming are real HI khukuris -- in about a 6 inch length -- steel blades and pretty well hardened if this kami does it like he did the last time.

Thanks Bill
I have a small one like you are describing. The blade is brass I think. Is this the same thing or type? Can it be sharpened with out marring the beautiful edge? Haven't used it yet, just keep it on my desk and admire

That's it, Jim. I don't like the brass blades. We got those "off the shelf". In keeping with HI philosophy "if it don't cut it ain't a knife" we make our kagas katnes from steel and they are fully functional.

Uncle BIll,have all of those little khukuris been claimed or do you still have roonm on your list? If you do,put me down for 2. Marcus

I'll have plenty to go around, Marcus. When I get some in I'll post a pix and a little info. We will have a couple for you for sure.
