Well, the 3.5 arrived today and I am instantly completely in love with the feel, the weight, ergonomics, the smoothness, AND the flip. This knife is so beyond what I imagined. So, I have a Hinderer "couple" now. The Mr. and the Mrs... It's going to be real hard to split them up.

The orange G-10 is by far my favorite! I just ordered one up, has black G-10 and will get orange as soon as I can find a scale for it.

Unless you're at the BlackJack table, don't split a Pair!:)

Congrats! Nice. As I have said many times, Love em' all BUT the XM18 3.5" Spanto Flipper IS my Fav. and in Orange......:eek:Yeah Baby

Now you can see why I recommend the 3.5 as a first or only.

Yes, I understand completely now. I thought the 3" was the end all be all, but now I see that the 3.5" better fits that category and the 3" is more of a specialty or niche knife for light duty and when you really want a light carry...

Very nice couple, I never tire from seeing pics of the 3.5 spanto.

It's a very solid knife.

Congrats use them in good health !

You can't go wrong with any of them, welcome to the addiction.:)

Personally, I am aiming for a family ;)

XM 18 3.5" Slicer flipper
XM 18 3" Slicer non-flipper
XM 24 flipper spanto

After getting my first, there are few other knives I can fantasize about at the moment ;)

Cheers!

This sounds like a good start. Bet it would not be the end.

The XMs in any size are great. But the 3.5 is a pocketable workhorse. Like I mentioned, if you are getting your first or only, it's an excellent knife. Once you experience the 3.5, you then better understand how a 3" or 4" would work in your gear options.

Full disclosure: I still love my 24 flipper over all other folders. But that's a personal choice.
