Phil and I got together over coffee and muffins this morning and had a great time swapping stories about this, that, and just about everything else.
It was nice to put a face to the voice as well as the writings. Also got to meet his significant other whom comes from my old home town. Great conversations sure to continue.
Time did not allow Glenn nor Knifeaholic to make the meeting. Maybe next time.

Attached is a picture Phill allowed me to take while he was looking at a MA5 I brought along. He said it was alright to post it for the rest of the crew.

I like that shirt as well!
Good to SEE you Phil. ;)

Nice Shirt. Did he have to chase the guy in the marathon far to get it. Glad you guys had a good time. LT

Steve,
I drove to Mass to meet with Phil whom was here in N.E. for the 1st time.
I was in Lansing a few years ago. Greated by a tornado that went right through town. Interesting. I thought it was a sign telling me to get out.

That's my Marguerita drinking shirt. It was great to have met Larry, he's a real gentleman and he even brought me gifts. Thanks again. Wish I could've gotten together with a couple of other of you guys.

Boston is a great place. I explored the town via the 'T', the train and subway system, and was a typical small town boy about the whole thing.

Not having had enough time to train, I had to skip the marathon. Why even bother running against those Kenyans anyway?

We went to the Lexington-Concord sites (the only historical place I wanted to see) and I was genuinely impressed by it all. Being a Liberal sort of person, I felt at home in the supposed national stronghold of Left wing politics, but as my journey to that hallowed ground of Freedom took me through a foriegn country and into a state where there is no reciprocity for my concealed carry license, I had to stand unarmed at the places where good, honest armed citizens stood up against their own tyranical government.

Not that I ever felt anything but completely safe in the Boston area. I liked the people, the sites, the accents, the culture, just about everything about it except the heavy traffic.

We made our trip there and back via Canada and NewYork. Wow... seeing all those classic knife names on the NY map (Cattaraugus, Utica, Camillus, ect & ect.) was something. So much of America's industrial history there. Loved the rugged country as well. The deer hunting looks excellent there.

Knives? Well, I came away with a nice Imperial DE toothpick from Larry, and the girlfriend bought me a very good SAK electrician's knife at Stoddards in the Chesnut Hill Mall. Glenn... I'm also an electrician. Had a great meal at Charlies in the same mall. Got my girfriend's sister a decent Russell Green River kitchen knife at DA Bucci & Sons in Stoneham. The proprietor put an edge on the blade that scares ripe tomatos into falling precisely in half.

All in all, not a bad trip. But always glad to be home again.

Glad to be back here in the forum as well,

Phil

Larry, Phil....sorry I wasn't able to meet you guys. I was in Oklahoma for the week. Larry, I appreciate you calling for me anyway. We can still get together sometime, right?

Glenn

Phil,
I think I'm gonna be at Novi tommorow, likely around 11:00 or so. Even though you're a liberal, it would be cool to meet you :)

If you make it, I'll be wearing a faded orange Case Knives hat, please feel free to say high (gonna be lots of guys from KF and some other forums I visit there, hope I have time to look at knives ;) ).

Glenn,
Yes we need to get together. I think I scared your wife a little when I called. I think she thought I was some internet wierdo but hopefully I was able to convince her I was not that bad.
I didnt talk about the cub scouts thinking that would really ring some warning bells. I found my sons derby car and will send you a picture.
How did your scouts make out?

Thanks for asking, Larry.

In my pack, we race by dens at first, so that means only one boy from each den moves on to the semi's. Anyway, my son won his den. Never lost a race there either. Unfortunately, he didn't make it out of the semi's, but he had a lot of fun.

I, however, raced in the spectator's race, and took home the 1st place hardware. :D In fact, I never even lost one race, and had the second fastest time of the whole day.

The event went very well.

Oh, yeah....I let my wife use my Schrade knife to cut something...

Glenn,
Congrats to both your son and you! Did you get your pictures taken for the local papers? Will you post it or should I keep an eye on the "Carriage Towne News" for it? :)

Scouts and Schrade go together like, like.. I dont know what. They have produced many Scout knives and had until recently sponsered displays and discussions for the scouting groups. Always discussing the hows and whys of knife/axe safety and then the correct way to handle a knife. They always gave to the youth groups.

Did your wife give your Schrade back?

TTYL

Luckily for her, she gave it back.

I know someone took a picture of me and my den, but I don't have it yet. I do have a picture of our cars, and will post it soon.
